October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, and the ASPCA is celebrating in a big way, teaming up with shelters around the country for the #FindYourFido campaign.

Who is Fido, you ask? Fido is any dog who currently is awaiting their forever home at a shelter.

In New York City, to promote the campaign and spread awareness of pet adoption, a cardboard Fido is taking trips around the city with its “virtual fosters” in collaboration with NYPD and City Hall. And all over the country, various animal shelters are participating in the #FindYourFido campaign with Fido-themed adoption events throughout the month. How can you help? For advocates who want to promote animal rescue, you can share adoptable pets on social media using the #FindYourFido hashtag. For those looking to add another member to their family, you can track the hashtag to find your next fur baby!
